Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things that are visible.

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the spirit is love joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

John 1:5  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. Importance of love and forgiveness to faith

Have faith in God. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. And when you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him that your Father in heaven may also may forgive you your trespasses. Something that\changed everything

Paul on the flesh and the spirit is high on my favorites list

   2 Cor 4:16-18 Therefore we don't faint. but though our outward person is decaying, yet our inward person is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory, while we don't look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Jesus not only suffered on the cross

He suffered until He died there. If another religion did the same in the United States as is happening right now elsewhere, what would I do? 

I discovered shockingly, how to gain great faith. I must be willing to crucify my flesh. Current trends indicate Christianity, now weakish from seminary to Sunday school and number one since Jesus died and rose again, will very soon be number two. I turned to Psalms. I read 103 for comfort.

The Devil Goes to Church Too

The devil does not mount any significant attacks on the barrooms. Everyone is already asleep there. No, the devil goes to church halls to quiet them down so as to soften the power of Jesus, limiting and subduing involvement with His power. 

Key words are Love & Wait! 

Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you. He rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for Him! Isaiah 30:18

My eternal God is always present tense. And Isaiah in my experience is the more often quoted books in the Old Testament. I love Isaiah! Reading in Isaiah is a great comfort.

Ansered Prayer

"Most assuredly I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do because I go to the Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son." If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 4:12 

Wherever Jesus is

Is the place where I want to be

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. John 1:3 

Fruits of the Spirit

Galatians 5:22-26 Not only does the flesh war against the spirit according to Paul but... The flesh will not help us Jesus said. 

An Adopted Favorite

This verse is not a particular stand out verse selected for stellar writing like found in the Psalms or some great verses in Paul's letters but it has grown on me after my mother in her later years actually pleaded with me to remember it for her since she had an extraordinary experience while she was reading it. It has kind of transferred itself to me. It is found in Galatians 5:22-25  I regret not printing the verse as originally intended since I am short on time as well as space. .

My Secret from the Arrow that Fllies by Day

He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God in Him will I trust. Surely He shall deliver me from the snare of the fowler and from the noisome pesilence. He shall cover me with His feathers and under His wings shall I trust: His truth shall be my shield and buckler. I shall not be afraid for the terror by night nor for the arrow that flies by day. Psalm 91

Trees are known by their fruit

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable...think about such things. Philippians 4:8 This makes me think about the fruits of the spirit in Galatians 5:22. 

Walking by Faith

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perishes, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. See further the next verse, 2Cor4:17 & this morning's portal.

Time soon forgotten

Being too busy gives you nightmares. Eccles 5:3 because being too busy crowds out time with Jesus.

Sensing Spiritual Thoughts

1Cor 2:11 For who among men knows the thoughts of man except his own spirit within him? So too, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God?
