Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things that are visible.

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the spirit is love joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Importance of love and forgiveness to faith

Have faith in God. For assuredly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, Be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those thing he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. And when you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him that your Father in heaven may also may forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses..

Paul on the flesh and the spirit is high on my favorites list

   2 Cor 4:16-18 Therefore we don't faint. but though our outward person is decaying, yet our inward person is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory, while we don't look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Jesus not only suffered on the cross

He suffered until He died there. If another religion did the same in the United States as is happening right now elsewhere, what would I do? 

I discovered shockingly, how to gain great faith. I must be willing to crucify my flesh. Current trends indicate Christianity, now weakish from seminary to Sunday school and number one since Jesus died and rose again, will very soon be number two. I turned to Psalms. I read 103 for comfort.
